The Sixth Canadian Sync Awards at NXNE Launches Sound + Vision Education Day, and Opens Submissions - Early Bird Tickets On Sale Now
The Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada (GMSC) is proud to announce the sixth Canadian Sync Awards at NXNE, taking place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at The Concert Hall in Toronto. In a milestone year marking the GMSC’s 10th anniversary, the event expands its reach through landmark partnerships with NXNE and Billboard Canada, and introduces Sound + Vision - a full day of industry education and networking on June 10, 2026, at The W Hotel.
Early bird tickets and special packages for both the Awards and Sound + Vision are on sale now until May 11, 2026 (11:59 PM EST). Submissions for the 2026 Canadian Sync Awards are open through April 12, 2026.
“2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of the GMSC, and we are extremely excited to celebrate alongside our Canadian and global sync communities at the Canadian Sync Awards and Sound + Vision! We continue to grow every year, and alongside our new partners at NXNE and Billboard Canada, I know this will be our biggest year yet.” Said Heather Gardner, President of GMSC.
Sound + Vision will take place over one full, entertaining day at The W Hotel, where educational panels, sessions, and meet-and-greet opportunities will be held. Sound + Vision ticket holders will hear from professionals in the music supervision ecosystem, including music supervisors, sync professionals, artists, directors, and producers. Lunch is included, but space is limited, so early-bird tickets are encouraged.
“Sound + Vision was super successful over the pandemic when we presented
multi-day sessions over 2 years. Over 1,000 people signed up, and we experienced insightful, educational conversations and presentations from music supervisors, directors, editors, composers, and our ecosystem colleagues. We are very excited to present this fun, one-day, in-person event for the first time.” Said Michael Perlmutter, Co-Producer of Sync Awards and Sound + Vision.
The purpose of the GMSC is threefold: to create awareness amongst production executives of this increasingly significant role in the production of all filmed media projects; to educate emerging Supervisors and create community; and share knowledge amongst colleagues in Canada and work on industry issues, challenges, and changing landscapes together to foster solutions for all parties.
“One of NXNE’s key missions is to support emerging musical talent, and music sync licensing has become a critical source of revenue for musicians,” said NXNE founder Michael Hollett. “We are delighted to support the excellent work of the Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada, in identifying and celebrating these essential revenue streams for artists."
